Battle of Mortimer’s Cross Anniv...
Feb 2 all-day
Anniversary of the Wars of the Roses battle, fought in 1461 almost on our doorstep. The Mortimer’s Cross pub now stands roughly in the centre of what would have been the battlefield on that day.

Wigmore Shop

The Wigmore Shop is managed by Alison who is supported by 20 or so volunteers who typically offer some 2 to 3 hours each per week serving and assisting in the shop.

The objectives of the shop are to promote local food producers, buy and sell local produce, act as a village focal point, offer work experience to local young people in association with Wigmore School, and generally support activities within the village. There is a noticeboard to publicise news and forthcoming local events. There is also a board to display small advertisements of goods for sale and local services.
