Anniversary of the Wars of the Roses battle, fought in 1461 almost on our doorstep. The Mortimer’s Cross pub now stands roughly in the centre of what would have been the battlefield on that day.

The Castle Inn

The Castle Inn on Ford Street describes itself as a traditional village pub with a modern twist. A family run 30 seat restaurant and bar with rooms, it has a growing reputation for great food, great value and a welcoming, relaxed environment.

The Oak Wigmore

The Oak Wigmore is a beautifully restored 16th Century coaching inn, previously Ye Olde Oak. It’s now open, offering a fresh, seasonal menu and a selection of local beers and ciders. The ambience and decor are designed to provide an exceptionally comfortable ‘home from home’ environment.
